Welcome to the Master Inspector Association of Australia ™

Choosing a Registered Master Inspector™ gives you a clearer understanding of a property’s condition, backed by experience and professional standards.

Building Inspection Professionals of Australia

Ultimately, Master Inspector represents excellence in client service, communication, inspection and professional reporting.

Registered Master Inspectors

Registered Master Inspectors® (RMI®) are career property inspection professionals. They inspect properties day in and day out, year after year, across a wide range of property types and conditions.

They are dedicated to the visual identification and documentation of property defects for the benefit of their clients, without prejudice or bias.

Properties of a similar age and construction type often develop similar defects. This is where the experience of a Registered Master Inspector® can prove invaluable. Experienced inspectors know what to look for and understand the areas and building components that commonly deteriorate, fail or become defective over time.

A typical Registered Master Inspector® has crawled through thousands of subfloors and ceiling spaces and inspected thousands of cladding systems, roofs, sites, retaining structures, decks and fences.

That experience translates into straightforward, dependable and experience-based advice.

Engage a Registered Master Inspector® for your property inspection and see for yourself why experience matters.

Ultimately, Master Inspector represents a commitment to excellence in client service, professional communication, inspection and reporting.

Why Choose a Registered Master Inspector®?

You can have confidence that a Registered Master Inspector® has the industry experience to identify and document visible defects and provide clear, professional inspection reporting.

Experience matters. Registered Master Inspectors® bring extensive practical knowledge gained from inspecting properties day in and day out, helping them recognise common defects, deterioration and areas of potential concern.

Choose a Registered Master Inspector® for your building inspection. Choose experience.

Building Inspection Industry Professionals

Registered Master Inspectors® of Australia are experienced career property inspection professionals who are in good standing within the inspection industry, have been conducting building and property inspections for more than five years, have completed over 1,000 inspections, and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional inspection practice.

The Master Inspector Association of Australia™ values practical industry experience and promotes best-practice inspection and reporting through professional collaboration, continuing education and the sharing of knowledge between experienced inspectors.

The Registered Master Inspector® (RMI®) designation recognises the value of extensive practical inspection experience. Years spent performing building, property and pre-purchase inspections provide inspectors with an understanding of how different building materials, construction systems and components age, deteriorate and fail.

This experience assists a Registered Master Inspector® in identifying and documenting visible defects and communicating their significance in a clear and understandable manner.

Professional reporting is an important part of that process. A Registered Master Inspector® aims to document observed defects clearly enough that clients can understand the condition of the property, the significance of identified issues and their likely maintenance or repair implications.

This allows the client to make their own informed assessment of the property's suitability according to their individual circumstances and tolerance for future maintenance and repair.

Registered Master Inspector® — experience matters.
